The Right Chihuahua Dog Toys
When it comes to finding the perfect Chihuahua dog toys, think small. These tiny dogs are
the smallest AKC breed and as such they need tiny "everything"... clothes, toys, crates, etc.
Fortunately, there are lots of toy dog breeds and a plentiful supply of small dog toys and accessories
on the market today.
Chihuahua dog toys need to be durable as well. These dogs have plenty of energy and can
be active chewers, but they are sensitive, too. What they can not tolerate is the swallowing
and ingestion of dog toys that break apart and aren't safe for them.
If you give your dog a toy, make sure you monitor his activity to see if the toy will stand
up to his wear-and-tear. Once the toy starts breaking or coming apart, it's time
to throw that toy away and get a new one.
Just as the toy can't be too soft, neither can it be too hard. Silly as it may seem, some dogs
can actually break their teeth by chewing too hard on hard balls or dog bones.
A special warning, when choosing chihuahua dog toys: Look out for toys which have small openings
or holes that your dog's legs could get stuck in. His tiny paws and brittle limbs could easily
get caught and injured in toys with holes or openings designed for larger dogs.
