Dog Gift Basket
The dog gift basket is a great choice for any dog lover. In addition to pre-fab gift baskets, consider making your own for the truly perfect customized gift! What should you put in it, you ask? It’s really quite easy to decide. Just think like the dog you are building the basket for. Let’s assume this is for your dog, but it doesn’t matter whose dog it is, as the principle will be the same. First, find a very cool and interesting basket. Pick a basket size that you can afford to fill (that means not TOO big!). Thrift stores are a great place to find a wicker basket for pennies. Next, you need to stop and think about what your dog’s favorite toys. Maybe he'll enjoy one big toy, like a giant Kong, or maybe small chew treats are more his style. If you’ve set your budget, you can decide which toys will make it into the basket. Just about every dog likes a ball so make sure there’s one in the basket - make sure you give him some interaction time to go along with it. A game of fetch is always fun! Rope toys and rubber toys are also popular choices for a dog gift basket. Now, it’s time to make a list of the favorite treats. There should be at least one perfect sized juicy bone. If you have a little dog, make sure the bone is small enough for him to get his jaws around. If you have a large breed, why not buy them one of those great-looking dino bones you see in the pet stores. They are huge and will take days to gnaw away. You can also check with the butcher department at your local grocery store to see what treats they may have in the back! Your dog gift basket also needs to include some traditional doggy biscuits. These are cheap so you can afford to splurge here. The latest trend is peanut butter cookies for your dog. You can make them yourselves or buy them pre-made at the pet store. Check here for some great dog biscuit recipes and when you use cookie cutters, you can make them in all sorts of fun shapes. Greenies are a fun treat to add to the basket. If you can’t afford a bunch of them, you can buy them individually wrapped at just a couple of bucks a piece. Your dog may some other favorite treat. Be sure to include it in the basket. With all the thought you’ve put into it, you’ll have created the best dog gift basket ever!
