Soaring Vet Bills? Get Peace Of Mind With Dog Insurance!

Dog Insurance can give us real peace of mind in a time when prices are soaring, including vet bills. We all try hard to keep our pets fit and healthy but we all know that our beloved dog can become injured or ill. With soaring vet bills, you could find yourself not in a position to be able to afford the vet bills. You would be devastated if you had to euthanize your beloved companion because you didn’t have the money for treatment, especially if just $10 a month would have meant your dog could have had treatment.

Honeybear Almost Didn't Make It...

Last year, my friend Steve's dog Honeybear wandered out of his fenced yard and went to go visit the neighbors. Their two dogs (also fenced) somehow got ahold of Honeybear and really tore her up. She almost died. When Steve found her, he had to carry her home.

It was a very difficult situation for his family. They didn't want to euthanize Honeybear, but the vet bill was over $10,000. Fortunately, Honeybear was saved - but at great personal cost to Steve.

This tragic incident is just another reminder of what can happen even when we play by the rules and think we have our bases covered.

Does Health Insurance For Your Dog Make Financial Sense?

You can quickly justify the cost of dog insurance. Even after a few regular visits that are covered, you can recoup your premium cost, but when you will really benefit from your dog insurance is if your dog becomes ill or injured and requires surgery, emergency treatment, blood transfusions, or ICU care. Your vet bills can quickly run into the thousands of dollars and let’s be honest; most of us don’t have a couple of thousand dollars lying around to cover vet bills.

Depending on your pet insurance plan, you may even be able to recoup your routine visits. There are many plans on the market. You can purchase insurance that covers only accidents for under $10 a month. Other plans cover illness and accident. Some plans have a cap on the coverage, some cap the amount per claim. Some plans have no deductible while others may have a $100.

The point is that there are many different plans underwritten by many different companies, and premiums vary depending on the coverage, the deductible, the cap amount, and the carrier.

It is important that you shop around and find the best coverage for your dog. Each of our pets are unique and so are our circumstances so only you know what plan is right for you.

You might consider using one of the health insurance specialist companies to search for the best deal for you, providing you with several quotes all within a short time.

You love your dog and enjoy spending time with your companion. You do everything you can to make sure your pal is healthy and safe, but accidents happen, and dogs do get sick. They develop cancer, they have thyroid problems, they have ear infections, need dental work, and the list goes on.

Wouldn’t it be great if knew that no matter what happened you would be able to provide your dog with the best care possible, because you purchased dog insurance.
